The foundation of every basket in this series begins with the oval base.
Unlike the six-stick base commonly used for round baskets, this oval base begins with nine base sticks: three 14-inch sticks threaded through six 8-inch sticks. Students will learn to use pairing and reverse pairing to create an even base and prevent warping, while developing the distinctive domed shape known as the “turtle.”
